A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for about 40 minutes for Geary, Dickinson, Riley, western Pottawatomie, western Morris, and eastern Clay counties Thursday evening.

The National Weather Service reported 60 mph wind gusts three miles east of Milford Lake, and a trained weather spotter reported 60 mph winds on the northwest side of Junction City.

Law enforcement authorities have not reported any major damage with the storm, which also included heavy rain.
