Junction City Police Receiving Support

dan breciJunction City police are receiving support from the community during this time of multiple shootings across the nation.

Just Tuesday a captain with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, Robert Melton,  was shot to death in an incident in that city.

In Junction City the Interim Police Chief, Dan Breci, said Tuesday night that over the past week “a ton of people have come into the police department with cards, food, pizza, donuts, cookies…you name it, especially some really heartfelt cards that somebody handwrote to every person in the entire department.” Breci added the police department knows that they have a “ton of support.” He said  they know there are great people in the community that support them.

“I’m sure that many wives and husbands of police officers are afraid. They’re afraid of what’s going in this country. They know that their fellow officers have their support and they know that this community has their support.”

The chief said he’s hoping if anything ever would happen that people would first wait until the facts are out before making a judgement.
