On Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. the Junction City Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public their 11th opportunity in six years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and prescription drugs.
You can bring your pills for disposal to the Junction City Police Department at 210 East 9th Street. ( The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. ) The service is free and anonymous, and no questions will be asked.
The initiative addresses a public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are susceptive to diversion, misuse, and abuse. For more information go to the DEA Office of Diversion Control site or contact Capt. Chuck Leithoff at the Junction City Police Department at 785-762-5525 or chuck.leithoff@jcks.com
