Four defendants arrested Tuesday on I-70 on suspicion of Transaction of Drug Proceeds made first appearances in Geary County District Court on Thursday.

Bond was set at $25,000 for all four defendants, and status hearings and preliminary hearings were scheduled for all four on March 31.

The defendants were arrested after authorities found what was described in court as a considerable amount of U.S. currency vaacum-wrapped in their car. After the arrests police reported that the money was found in a spare tire.

The defendants include Maria Arballo-Figueroa, Yvonne Rocha, Andres Soto-Arena, and Jose Gomez-Gamboa. The court has required a waiver of extradition prior to any release on bond for the defendants.
