The Junction City Blue Jays will host Garden City in the season opener for both teams on Friday at Rathert Field.

Blue Jay coachDrew Biery is optimistic about this team. “We’ve got a lot of guys returning back from last year.We’ve got a good core group that can really hit the baseball.”

Some of those players range from Tre McDaniel and Chip Ozores to Bobby Khoury, Charlie Peyla and Tim Bell.

Junction City finished the 2015 season 12-11 with a first round loss to Shawnee Mission East in the Class 6A State Baseball Tournament.
