The Junction City Blue Jays have advanced five out of six wrestlers to day two of the Class 6A State Tournament at Hartman Arena in Park City.

Returning for day two are Max Bazan at 113 lbs, John Clark at 145 lbs, Kamari Smith at 152 lbs, Aryus Jones at 160 lbs and Jefferey Walters at 220 lbs.
Jones is the only Blue Jay to advance to the championship finals, after picking up wins by tech fall, major decision and decision. He will face Trent Miles of Washburn Rural, a rematch of last weekends Regional Championship where Jones won in a 10-7 decision.
Bazan was bumped from the championship side of the bracket in the semi-finals, sending him to the consolation side semi-finals Saturday. He will have to win twice for a third place finish.
Smith and Walters both fell in the first round, but stayed alive in the first round of the consolation bracket to advance to Saturday. Clark fell in the championship quarterfinals, and will wrestle in the second round of consolation Saturday.
Kade Danielson, Junction City’s lone freshman fell in the first round, and first round of the consolation bracket by a tech fall and major decision. Danielson finished his season with a final record of 2-9.
