National Weather Service Forecast

Mostly cloudy skies are in store for northeast Kansas today, keeping temperatures cool according to the National Weather Service of Topeka. A warming trend is seen going into the weekend, with Saturday expected to see highs in the upper 60s to low 70s with sunny skies. Winds will begin to pick up late Saturday morning and afternoon causing elevated fire danger this day.FileL (6)

Today: Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 20s. Northwest winds up to 5 mph shifting to the southwest after midnight.

Friday: Not as cool. Sunny. Highs in the upper 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph.

Friday Night: Clear. Lows in the lower 30s. Northwest winds up to 5 mph shifting to the southwest after midnight.

Saturday: Warmer…sunny. Highs around 70. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts to around 20 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Not as cool. Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 40s.

Sunday: Breezy…sunny. Highs in the mid 60s.

Sunday Night: Colder. Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 30s.

Monday: Sunny. Highs in the mid 60s.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of rain showers. Lows in the upper 30s.

Tuesday: Cooler. Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain. Highs around 50.

Tuesday Night: Colder. Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow. Lows in the upper 20s.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 40s.
