Junction City Middle School 8th grade boys A-team moved to 6-2 on the season with a win over Ft. Riley 52-37. After a close first half that found City Middle trailing 14-11 they hit the floor in the second half focused and were able to quickly take the lead and hold it for the rest of the game.
City Middle was lead in scoring by Jeremiah Bisio with 16 points and J’Lin Powell adding 13 points. In the B-game City Middle again worked to a win beating Ft. Riley 32-13. Kazierick Smith had 10 points and James Slyvester added 8 points.
Both teams will be in action on Tuesday at home vs Washburn Rural with a 3:30 p.m. tipoff. Thursday the Middle School Centennial League Tournament begins with Junction City Middle School hosting Emporia at home in first round action at 3:30 p.m. The winner of the game will advance to the Championship bracket on Saturday February 20th at Shawnee Heights Middle School with the loser dropping to the Consolation bracket played at the same site.
