The basketball court at Hayden High School in Topeka will be named after a Junction City native, Ben Meseke.
The Topeka Capital Journal has reported that Hayden High School will name their floor, Ben Meseke Court, during a ceremony on February 23. The Hayden Wildcats will be hosting Topeka West that evening.
Meseke is a Saint Xavier graduate and coached at Saint X as well. Later he moved to Hayden where guided teams to six state basketball championships, and a total of 12 state titles overall. Meseke also coached cross country at Hayden for 20 years.
He finished his basketball coaching career at Shawnee Mission Northwest.
