Junction City Blue Jay wrestler Malik White suffered a serious leg injury in practice Wednesday. He has been competing in the heavyweight class for the Blue Jays.
Coach Bob Laster confirmed the injury. “My heavyweight, Malik White, is out for the year. He had a leg injury at practice. Don’t know the severity of it yet, but I’m pretty sure that he’s gone for the season.”
Laster said at this moment the Blue Jays do not have anyone to replace White. There are some 220 pound wrestlers on the team, but he is unsure if he will move one of them up to heavyweight.
Malik White is a senior at Junction City High School.
