20th Annual Christmas Parade

Icy weather forced a one week delay in the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, but it didn’t prevent approximately 45 entries and a large public turnout for the 20th annual parade.

Milder weather Saturday night aided the event as well.

There are a number of awards that are presented to parade entries. This year they included:

–County Commission Award to JC Naz

–Mayor’s Award to Hampton Inn

–Chamber of Commerce Award to Town & Country

–Founders Award to Knee High Daycare

–Youth Award to Girl Scouts Service Unit 706

The parade wrapped up with the arrival of Santa Claus, who flipped the switch on the Christmas lighted displays in Heritage Park. He then met with children in the Santa House in the park to hear their Christmas wishes.
