There are several downed power lines in the area, resulting in the loss of power in many neighborhoods in Manhattan. MFD responded to several downed power lines Sunday morning.

Westar Energy is reporting 1,434 customers currently out of power in Riley County, 70 in Pottawatomie County and 3,087 in Geary County.

Westar has noted that there has been significant damage in Abilene, Junction City and Manhattan. They have numerous crews working to restore power, but they are saying it could be as late as Tuesday before all power is restored. Restoration times will be updated throughout the day.

Ice is coating trees and causing damage to limbs and branches.
