According to the National Weather Service of Topeka, there will be complicated weather today as a storm system moves through the area. There is a risk for severe storms, mainly northeast of a Marysville-Topeka-Ottawa line. The main hazard with any storms that form will be damaging wind

gusts, however, if storms can develop by late morning, there is a chance for hail or a tornado in far NE Kansas. A High Wind Warning and Wind Advisory are also in effect for today as wind gusts will range from 45-60 MPH from late morning through early evening. Secure loose property today and be careful on the roads. Stay weather aware!

Today: Very windy. Partly sunny. Slight chance of rain showers and thunderstorms in the morning…then slight chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 40 mph increasing to west 30 to 40 mph with gusts to around 50 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
