A big crowd is wanted for the Junction City Blue Jay postseason playoff football game against Derby Friday night at Al Simpler Stadium.
Blue Jay coach Randall Zimmerman said they need to have the place filled. “Derby will have the visitor’s side and everything around the outside of the fence full. They follow that team very very well. I just plead with our community to come out.”
The Blue Jays are 10-0 while Derby is 9-1 on the season. “Just plead for everybody to come out, and be loud, and be vocal, and help us play the way we’re capable of playing and extend this thing.”
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday.
USd 475 issued a press release reporting that business along 6th Street would receive Blue Jay signs to put in their yards. Sheets will be made and hung along the fence at the stadium, the Pep band will do a pep band run during seminar period throughout the school, “Blue out the Panthers” for the kids spirit night, and the locker room and commons area will be decorated with spirit signs.
The J-Stepper Dance Team and Blue Jay Marching Band will also perform Friday night at the game.
