The Junction City Lady Jays finished 12th in the 6A Girls team competition at the state cross country meet at Rimrock Farm near Lawrence on Saturday.
Myrissa Humphrey led the way for Junction City with a 41st place finish in 10:33.5. Briona Jensen of Junction City finished 64th in 21:03.3.
Manhattan and Lawrence Free State tied for the 6A Girls state championship with both teams having the winning low score of 72 points. Junction City finished with a team score of 301 points.
In the boys Class 6A state meet, two Blue Jays competed for Junction City. Nick Arneson finished 60th in 17:35.1, and Miguel Espinosa finished 73rd in 17:48.5. JCHS did not have a full team in the meet.
In the Class 6A boys team competition Olathe North won the team title with the low score of 97 points. Manhattan finished fourth with 125 points.
