The 1st Infantry Division Public Affairs Office has reported the death of a 1st Infantry Division soldier at about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday from a gunshot wound in his residence on the installation.

The name of the Soldier is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin. No other people were injured.

The incident is currently under investigation.
