Wakefield Boys Finish Second in Regional Cross Country

bombersThe Wakefield High School boys cross country team has qualified for the Class 1A State Meet in Wamego next Saturday ( Oct. 31 ).

The Bombers finished second in their 1A regional meet in Belleville this Saturday ( Oct. 24 ). Frankfort won the team title with the low score of 33 points followed by Wakefield with 41.  In the team competition there were eight schools, and 17 schools sent runners to the meet.

In the individual competition Brock Barrett led the Bombers with a fifth place finish in 17:53, and Johnathan Bowen was seventh in 18:14. Jordan Colglazier was 13th in 19:24, and Preston McCollum 23rd in 20:09.

The state meet next Saturday will be held at the Wamego Country Club. The Bombers will run at 10:45 a.m.
