MATC plans to expand oral health services by doubling the students ability to treat patients — moving from seven operatories up to a goal of fourteen. A 1,400 square foot structure will be added to the existing dental hygiene clinic as part of Phase I.
Phase II of the project will involve outfitting the new space with operatory equipment / furniture and reconfiguring the clinic’s existing space to allow for better workflow, strengthen infection control, more closely replicate industry operatories for students and ensure an enhanced level of patient privacy.
MATC’s dental hygiene program is designed to prepare students for the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and other necessary licensure regulations to enter and be successful in the profession. The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Students earn an Associate of Applied Science degree of Dental Hygiene.
