Fort Riley to Host Retiree Appreciation Day 2015 Friday

Military Retirees living in the Fort Riley area are invited to attend the Retiree Appreciation Day 2015 this Friday at Riley’s Conference Center on post.

Retirees will have the opportunity to receive their flu shot, free for fort riley plainthose 65 and older, along with other inoculations provided by the Irwin Army Community Hospital staff. You are asked to bring your health records with you in order to make sure your up to date on all of your inoculations.

Major General Wayne W. Grigsby Jr., First Infantry Division and Fort Riley Commanding General will be on hand to greet those in attendance. The Commander of Irwin Army Community Hospital, Col. Risa Ware will also be a guest speaker along with the Commissary and PZ managers and Glenn Seutter, the subject matter expert on TRICARE and general health care issues for retirees.

Door prizes will also be given away throughout the general session, over $4,000 in door prizes were handed out during last years general session.

Those attending will need to make some advanced planning regarding their entrance onto Fort Riley if they don’t possess a federally issued identification card, due to recently enacted enhanced security measures at the post.

Booths containing numerous healthcare and retiree-related information will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the conference center. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Friday.
