The deck areas at Rathert Stadium has been the site of recent improvement work.

Ed Lazear, Junction City Parks and Recreation Director, publicly thanked the Flint Hills Church Group at the Tuesday night city commission meeting.

“They came out to Rathert Stadium this weekend. They had 35 volunteers. They redecked about 80 percent, they didn’t quite get it done, restained and water sealed all the decks at Rathert Stadium, big project, that’s like 4,300 square feet of decking. It was kind of getting worn aged, and so it’s looking good again. It’s a great project, so I just wanted to thank those folks for helping.”

Rathert Field is home to the Junction City Brigade, Junction City High School, and the American Legion baseball teams in Junction City.
