According to the National Weather Service of Topeka, dry and windy conditions are expected today as a cold front tracks through the area. Northeasterly winds may gust upwards of 30mph this

afternoon across north central KS. These winds combined with low relative humidity values will result in very high fire danger concerns this afternoon, so outdoor burning is not recommended in that area.

Expect a cool-down behind this front by tonight as lows plummet into the 30s and 40s. The coolest temperatures are expected near the KS/NE border where there will be the potential for some patchy frost Friday morning. Conditions will remain cool Friday into Saturday with highs in the 60s before rising back into the 70s by Sunday. The next best chance for rain looks to be during the Tuesday to Wednesday time-frame when another cold front should move through the area.
