The Geary USD 475 Board of Education has given authorization for the District to offer incentive bonuses of up to $3,000 to recruit personnel for difficult to fill positions.

Superintendent Dr. Corbin Witt explained right now those positions would be in Speech Language Pathologists.

“We have three positions that we’re not able to fill, and are doing those through contracts with agencies, and there expensive to have those contracts,” said Witt. “We’d really like to get our own people, and so we asked the board if we could go and entice some people, and if having a small signing bonus would get people to sign on the dotted line that they’ll come work for us, then we feel like that’s an importance.”

The Board of Education was in session Monday night at the Devin Center.
