GCH Unveils Renovated Miller Chemotherapy Unit

The Miller Chemotherapy Unit at Geary Community Hospital recently went through a renovation project in order to upgrade the unit for the patients and staff.

The upgrades include new chairs for the patients, a new refrigeratorMiller Chemotherapy Unit One 9-23 with an ice maker, new paint, new artwork, a new big screen television, and some convenience upgrades to the bathroom and nurses station. It was funded through the Miller Chemotherapy Trust Fund managed by the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation.

“That’s what Maureen Miller put the dollars aside for with us, I’m Miller Chemotherapy Unit Two 9-23going to say about 17 or 18 years ago, and it was her desire because she lost her husband and two of her three sons to cancer that we are able to treat our patients here in Junction City and not have them go anywhere else,” said Jolana Montgomery-Matney, Executive Director of the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation.

The renovation of the Miller Chemotherapy Unit is only the beginning of a larger plan to upgrade all of Medical Arts Building I at GCH. The Hospital is currently in the planning stages for the upgrades to MAB I, and work is expected to begin sometime around the first of the year with a completion date sometime by next spring and summer.
