Family practice physician Dr. Teran Naccarato and nurse practitioner Tiffany Niccarato had an opportunity to meet the public during a reception at the convention center in Junction City on Tuesday.  They have just arrived in the community in recent weeks.

Dr. Teran Naccarato is employed in the Geary Community Hospital Rural Health Clinic. He began work at the Clinic on Sept. 8. “It’s been very good. We’re building up the practice real well. And when Dr. ( Jimmy ) Jenkins switches to a hospital practice October 5 then a lot of his patients are going to come and see me as well. So we’ll be able to continue the care with that.”

As a family practice physician, Naccarato will see people of all ages. “My style of practice, I tell people I’m not so much the dictatorial practice. I like to talk to people about their options of treatment.  I like to give people all the options, educate them as to their medical condition and talk to them like a person, and I’m very big on preventive health care.”

Naccarato comes to Junction City from Winfield where he practiced for approximately the past five years. He  obtained undergraduate and master’s degrees from Wichita State University, a medical degree from the KU School of Medicine, and did his residency with Via Christi in Wichita.

Tiffany Naccarato is a nurse practitioner. She is awaiting her final certification paperwork to arrive, and will then be working on the fourth floor of Medical Arts II at Geary Community Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Marc Felts.  “I’m excited to hit the ground running.”

She obtained her nursing education at Wichita State and then attended Simmons College in Boston.

Tiffany has a family tie in Junction City. Her father, David Yearout, is the planning and zoning director for Junction City and Geary County. “When we interviewed up here in Junction City, we actually didn’t tell Dad that we were interviewing because we just knew that he would get so excited and have so much to say. He already said so many great things about Junction City, so we kind of kept it a secret until the day before we came up. And then we told him, and of course he was over the moon. Definitely his vote was for Junction City.”

The Naccarato’s have two small children, who are nearing their fourth and first birthdays.
