The Geary USD 475 Board of Education wants to develop a long-range, three to five year, comprehensive plan for the school district.

Brian Field, Board of Education President says the community would be involved in the development of the plan.

“One of the ways that we are going to accomplish that is, as a board we’ll each pick three members from our community that we feel would be a good representation of the community, and then one staff member,” said Field. “So each board member can recommend or nominate different people, and then we will put together a committee of Board Members and some of the Administrative Staff from USD 475, who will actually decide who those community representatives are going to be.”

The Board will follow a Kansas Association of School Boards developed process in developing the long-range plan.
