blue jay logoThe Junction City High Blue Jay boys soccer team fell to Seaman at Al Simpler Stadium Tuesday evening by the score of 3-1.

Seaman scored their last two goals in the final five minutes of the match to get the win.

The Blue Jays fell to 1-5 with the loss.

The Junction City Lady Jay volleyball team went 1-2 in a quadrangular at Topeka West High School.

Junction City lost to Washburn Rural 25-17, 25-16 and to Shawnee Heights 25-12, 25-16, but defeated Topeka West 25-12, 25-22.

The Lady Jay tennis team competed in a quadrangular at Manhattan High School.

Doubles led the way for Junctiion City with both teams finishing second in their bracket of play. Ally McKenzie and Danielle Shane teamed up to play in the top doubles bracket, and Jordan Dombrowski and Abby Khoury competed in the second flight of doubles.

Both doubles teams went 2-1 on the day, defeating Manhattan and Marysville, but losing to Washburn Rural.

In singles play for Junction City, Anna Johnson went 0-3 in the top flight and Nea Misa 0-3 in the second flight.

The Lady Jays will next compete at the Kossover Tennis Center next Tuesday in Topeka.
