The Junction City Blue Jays scored seven first half touchdowns enroute to a season opening 56-14 win over Highland Park at Al Simpler Stadium.

The Blue Jays began their scoring onslaught in the first minute of the game when Jovon Baldwin went 36 yards for a touchdown. Just over two minutes later he was on the receiving 37 yard touchdown pass from Ryan Henington. Baldwin also caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Henington in the closing minutes of the second quarter.

Also in the first half Raye Wilson, who has moved from safety to the offensive backfield rushed for two touchdowns on runs of 56 and one yard.

The Blue Jays used a number of reserve players in the second half that saw Highland Park compete hard. The Scots scored two touchdowns and a safety on Junction City, while the Blue Jays had just one touchdown in the second half.
