The East team defeated the West 21-0 in the 41st annual Kansas Shrine Bowl football game Saturday night in Hays.
Tony Barksdale of Shawnee Heights scored two touchdowns in the win for the East.
The West squad had won eight of the previous nine meetings.
Top seniors from Kansas High School football teams of the previous season play in the Shrine Bowl, which also helps raise funds for a network of 22 Shriner’s Hospitals for Children and their patients.
Junction City was represented on the West team by Tyriq Nas-Carmickle at a nickel back position on defense, and by Blue Jay head football coach Randall Zimmerman, who served as the defensive coordinator.
