Junction City, KS – Junction City High School has selected Jeremy Harmison as the new JCHS head softball coach for the 2015-2016 season, pending Board approval. Jeremy will be a teacher at Junction City Middle School. Jeremy has 10 years of teaching experience and 8 years of coaching experience. He also played collegiate football and baseball at Bethany College.
Most of Jeremy’s coaching experience has been in softball, but he has also coached
football, basketball and volleyball. Most recently he was the head softball coach at Council Grove, and in Herington before that.
Jeremy has a Bachelor of Arts in Health & Physical Education from Bethany College and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration from Emporia State University.
Jeremy will be replacing Jeff Childs, who served as the head softball coach for the 2014-2015 season. Jeremy is married to Kate Harmison, who is employed by USD 475 at the Freshman Success Academy.
“Jeremy will be a valuable addition to the classroom and to the field. He has experience and an understanding of softball that will help in the continued development of the Blue Jays softball program,” says Matt Westerhaus, JCHS Athletic Director.
