The Junction City Brigade ( 10-6 ) cruised to an easy 13-0 win over the Kansas City Blue Jays ( 2-3 ) Friday night at Rathert Field.
Junction City got four runs in the first running powered by five hits, including a double by Danny Rowley to get the offense going. Bo Ritter got the pitching win in a game which featured assistant coach Andy Lewton pitching the seventh inning in relief, and another assistant coach Jordan Hodges playing the entire contest at second base for the Brigade. Both are former college baseball players.
Junction City head coach Seth Wheeler talked about his starting pitcher, “Bo Ritter started tonight, and he was awesome. I don’t know how many pitches he threw. I think it was about 61, 62, somewhere in there. To go six innings….that’s being really, really efficient.”
The Brigade host the Kansas City Monarchs Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Rathert Field.
