To commemorate the 71st anniversary of D-Day the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene is hosting the Symphony at Sunset on the steps of the Presidential Library.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. with the 35th Infantry Division Band followed by the Salina Symphony headlining at 8:30 p.m.

Salina native and award-winning tribute artist Les Lankhorst will perform as this year’s featured guest artist. He will pay tribute to the “Voice of the Century” marking the 100th birthday of Frank Sinatra.

Guests are invited to arrive beginning at 5:30 p.m. to enjoy some of the many food vendors that they will have on site.

Tim Rives, Deputy Director of the Eisenhower Presidential Library explained that they will have all types of food available.

“Everything from barbecue, to bier rocks, to popcorn and donuts, maybe not all at the same time but a lot of good stuff available,” said Rives.

There is no coverage charge for the event, they are asking for donations to help support this years performance.
