The Kansas State High School Activities has announced multiple postponements in state baseball and softball tournament competition.
The rains in Kansas have taken their toll on fields.
Four-Division Two softball at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka will be postponed until Sunday and Monday. The Chapman Irish softball team will be in that tournament, that was scheduled to begin Thursday ( May 28 ).
Chapman ( 15-7 ) is now scheduled to play Clearwater ( 17-3 ) at 1 p.m. Sunday in a first-round game. The tournament semifinal games will be played Sunday and the championship game on Monday. If Chapman wins their first game they would play the winner of LaCycgne-Prairie View and Rock Creek at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The championship game Monday is at 10 a.m. while the third place consolation game has been cancelled.
KSHSAA also reported the 4a Division one State Baseball Tournament in Salina, 4A Division Two State Baseball Tournament in Topeka at Hummer Sports Park, and the 3A State Softball Tournament in Manhattan will all be postponed to Sunday and Monday as well.
