All Geary County offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26. The Geary County Commission will also be moved back one day from Monday until Tuesday.

The Junction City – Geary County Metropolitan Planning Commission will meet in special session at 3 p.m. Friday at the Municipal Building.

The Commission will do a review of site plans for the proposed construction of additions to Westwood Elementary School and Franklin Elementary School.  The special meeting will allow the planning board to complete their review and submit a recommendation to the Junction City Commission in time for the governing body’s June 2 meeting.

The Geary County Public Building Commission will be in session at 8 a.m. Friday ( May 22 ) at the Geary County Office Building.

The agenda includes a presentation and request for approval of a resolution to refinance bonds used to finance an addition to the County Detention Center. That expansion opened in 2009.
