GCH Auxiliary Awards Nursing Scholarships

The Geary Community Hospital Auxiliary has awarded nursing scholarships to three local area students for the 2015-16 school year.

The recipients ae Emilie Pearson, Ashley Visser and Lori Ann Harris. Each will receive $1,000 for tuition and books.

Pearson is a 2015 Chapman High School graduate and will pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Fort Hays State University. Visser is attending Manhattan Area Technical College to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, and Harris is a Registered Nurse working in the GCH Surgery Center, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with the University of South Dakota online. To be awarded the scholarship, recipients have to be enrolled in a nursing program and also maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
