Update:

A State Fire Marshall’s Office investigator has arrived in Junction City to help with the investigation into the cause of the apartment fire that occurred early Friday morning.

An early morning fire in Junction City resulted in the transport of two people to hospitals with second degree burns.

That information was confirmed by the Junction City Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to 123 No.2 West 17th at 4:19 a.m. They had the fire under control in about 30 minutes. All of those in the home were outside of the apartment building when they arrived, but two with burns were taken to Geary Community Hospital, and one victim has since been lifelighted to another hospital.

The damage estimate is approximately $35,000.

The fire was contained to one apartment in the four-plex. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to send in an investigator to help determine the cause of the fire.
