Margaret Kilpatrick has been teaching for 54 years, all but four of those years have been with Geary USD 475. During her 50 years with the school district she has been a member of the JCEA, and even served as President of the JCEA for a couple of years. At the end of the school year, which is just over a week away, Kilpatrick will be saying goodbye to her class room and the district for the last time as she is retiring from teaching.

“I see the end, but I have enjoyed every step of the way,” Kilpatrick told the JCEA Spring Banquet audience.

She later told JCPost.com that she will miss her students the most.

“It’s amazing, I’ve met so many students and that will be one thing that I will miss, the students that I have worked with. I see so many of them and they will say ‘Hi Miss. Kilpatrick, his Miss. Kilpatrick,’ and I love it. I will miss the students that I work with.”

Kilpatrick started out in 1964 at Westwood School and now teaches at Junction City Middle School.
