Former K-State All Big 12 and All-American Ty Zimmerman of Junction City is one of 24 players invited to try out for a roster spot at the New York Jets rookie minicamp at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center. 

The rookie minicamp opened Friday and continues through Sunday.

Zimmerman helped lead the Junction City Blue Jays to the 2008 Class 6A State Football Championship, and later was a four-year starter for Kansas State at safety where he was also a part of the 2012 Big 12 champion Wildcat team.
