A funeral service for Dr. Ronald Dean Mace, M.D., 72, Junction City, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Laurie Barnes officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, 5181 Wildcat Creek Road. A public visitation will not take place.
He passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Geary Community Hospital.
The family has designated memorial contributions to be given to the Dr. Ronald D. Mace Fund for Medical Education, c/0 Geary Community Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 3015, or to the First United Methodist Church, 804 North Jefferson Street, both in Junction City, KS 66441.
Dr. Mace moved to Junction City in July 1975, and opened his medical practice. He continued his practice until his retirement in June, 2013. He served as the director of the University of Kansas School of Medicine Rural Track Residency Program in Junction City and trained 15 Family Medicine Residents.
