In order to vote in the April 7th election you must be registered to vote and that deadline was Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Geary County.
Rebecca Bossemeyer, Geary County Clerk explained that she did not have very
many people register for next months election but considers that normal.
“I would consider that normal. We always offer the late hours and I always try to be at different events no matter the size of the election, but we do not see the numbers of people getting registered for city/school elections that we see certainly in a Presidential year,” said Bossemeyer.
Bossemeyer’s office did begin sending out mail out ballots on Wednesday, with the exception of military or civilian over seas voters,”those went out 45 days prior to the election, but today is the first day for everyone else.”
Those who would like to receive a mail out ballot must fill out an application and return it to her office by Friday, April 3rd. All ballots have to be back in her office by the close of the polls on April 7th.
