Chapman Holds 21st Annual St. Patricks Day Parade

The main drive into Chapman was lined with school children from Chapman USD 473 Friday afternoon to enjoy the 21st annual Chapman St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

This years parade had approximately 50 entries ranging from Fort Riley’s Commanding Generals Mounted Color Guard, to the Chapman Middle School and High School marching bands, along with other representatives from throughout the community and surrounding area.

Bob Diehl founded the parade 21 years ago and explained when he first brought it up no one else wanted to do it,”so I put up my own money to do it.”

The next year the Chapman EDC began sponsoring the parade and Diehl said it’s been going ever since.

The parade kicks off from the Middle School parking lot and heads south on North Marshall street before heading back east on Old Hwy 40 finishing up a the Chapman ball fields.
