The Junction City High School Boys Bowling Team went to Wichita Friday to compete at the Class 6A State Tournament and walked out as Champions.
Head Coach Brad Adams explained that the Blue Jays were doing everything right
from the start.
“We came out of the gate just throwing strikes, picking up spares, doing everything we should be doing and it never slowed down,” said Adams. “Somebody may have fell off a little bit but somebody else picked back up and I mean three games solid back to back to back like that. We had awesome bowlers all day long.”
The Blue Jays were led by their lone senior Jayson Quicksall who finished with a 752 series good enough for second overall in singles. Quicksall also bowled the second highest score of the tournament a 279.
Other Blue Jays Bowlers placing in the top 20 included Kris Quidachay at 19th with a 634 series, Will Wriston in 14th with a 675 series and Tyler Gromlovits at 11th with a 691 series.
