Game 29 * Bramlage Coliseum * February 23, 2015
- Sophomore Nigel Johnson’s career-high 20 points paced the Kansas State attack from the bench, as the Wildcats snapped a 2-game skid with a 70-63 win over No. 8/9 Kansas on Monday before a sellout crowd at Bramlage Coliseum. The win marked the second straight at home over the Jayhawks, a first for the school since the 1981-82 and 1982-83 seasons. K-State finished the game on a 16-9 run, taking the lead for good on a pair of free throws by Thomas Gipson with 8:01 to play. The Wildcats, who rallied to take a 31-30 lead at halftime on two free throws by Nino Williams with 1.4 seconds, connected on 56 percent in the second half, while holding the Jayhawks to just 36 percent. Johnson, who posted his first career 20-point game, was joined in double figures by Williams, who scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half, and Gipson who had 12.
