The Junction City Blue Jays are sending nine wrestlers to the Class 6A State Tournament in Park City Friday and Saturday.

Coach Bob Laster said the approach this week has been low key.

“It was a pretty low key practice week. We didn’t talk up state or anything like that. We just tried to basically keep our guys focused.”

Blue Jays who will be competing include Max Bazan, Downey Wood, Jeryl Denton, Jake Bazan, Gabe Padilla, Xavier DeGuzman, Tanner Bogenhagen, Aryus Jones, and J’Quan Robinson.

Junction City enters the tournament after a third place team finish in their 6A regional last week.

The team traveled to Park City on Thursday in order to get in an evening practice at the Hartman Arena where the tournament is being held.
