Junction City police have confirmed the arrest of Arthur M. Vantassel based on tips received from the
public.
Police Chief Tim Brown said Vantassel was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday without incident, and would be held at the Geary County Jail on parole violation charges. A check of Police Department records showed Vantassel was also arrested on a Geary County District Court warrant charging Possession of Narcotics , and in a second case involving suspicion of Possession of Narcotics.
On February 12th police said that the JCPD in cooperation with the Kansas Department of Corrections was seeking the public’s help in locating an alleged parole violator being sought by both agencies. Vantassel had been convicted in 2011 on charges of Distribution of Certain Hallucinogens, and had been an alleged fugitive from the Department of Corrections Parole Program since December.
