Wednesday night update:

Geary County Commissioner Ben Bennett is recovering at Geary Community Hospital following surgery for a fractured hip on Wednesday. He fell on the ice in a restaurant parking lot Tuesday and suffered the injury.

A check with Bennett Wednesday night revealed he is in good condition, and is hopeful of getting out of the hospital on Friday.

A family member has confirmed that Geary County Commissioner Ben Bennett fell on the ice in a restaurant parking lot Tuesday, and fractured a hip.

Bennett drove himself to Geary Community Hospital where the diagnosis was made. He is scheduled for surgery today ( Wednesday ) at the hospital.

Bennett had been visiting with  family members before the accident, and fell on the ice after leaving the restaurant.
