The Next Step After the Army Listening Session

The consensus during public discussion in Junction City is that this past week’s Army Communityfort riley plain Listening Session to support Fort Riley was a big success.  A total of 4,203 people attended the event at the convention center, with the strong majority of the comments to an Army delegation gathering information on Fort Riley and the relationship with the region positive in nature.

But what comes next.

John G. Montgomery, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army Emeritus, has an idea. He feels the Army Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Army need to come to Fort Riley.

“First of all Mr. Edwards ( Mark Edwards )  and myself will try to make that happen in coordination with Fort Riley and the leaders there.  General Cloutier ( BG Roger Cloutier Jr. ) himself said when people visit Fort Riley and see it first hand they’re very impressed. You’re not just looking at a lot of numbers on a piece of paper. ” Montgomery added, “It’s very important I think the next few months to get the Secretary and the Chief, and we’ll work at that.”

Mark Edwards is also the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army.
