Geary County Sheriff’s deputies responded early Tuesday morning at 5:41 a.m. to mile marker one on K-244 Highway northwest of Junction City for an abandoned vehicle that had been burned.

Authorities are still investigating the case, but Sheriff Tony Wolf confirmed there were no injuries. The vehicle that burned was a BMW automobile.

The Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies responded to a U.S. 77  site for a single vehicle accident Monday evening involving a deer. Sarah Becker of Milford was traveling on U.S. 77 in a 2009 Ford Focus when she struck a deer in the highway. No injuries were reported.
