The Geary County K-State Research and Extensions Office is teaming up with the Wabaunsee County Research and Extensions Office and the Flint Hills District to provide a prescribed burning workshop on Monday, February 9th in Alta Vista.
The Workshop will cover topics such as CRP Maintenance and
Management Practices; Burn Considerations; Why and When to Burn; Burn Notification and Local Regulations; Burning for Wildlife; Fire Behavior; Smoke Management; Fire Guards, Burning Techniques; Planning and Conducting a Burn; Burn Equipment, Liability and Burning Assistance; and Weather.
Guest Speakers will include representatives from the Kansas Forest Service, USDA-NRCS, KDWPT, and National Weather Service.
It will be held at the Alta Vista First Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
