Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel wants to see city elections remain in the spring.

There is some consideration for the Legislature to possibly move city and school board elections to November.

Junction City officials, including Dinkel, had a chance to visit with the area state legislative delegation this week. He told them not to move city elections to the fall, like what has been proposed. “City elections I think are still something that needs to be in the spring away from the rest. Let the community decide how they want to do it.”

Right now elections for city commission, city council, and school board in Kansas are held the first Tuesday in April in odd numbered years.
