Blue Jays Nearly Pull the Upset

The Junction City Blue Jays made it close before falling to the undefeated Shawnee Heights blue jay logoThunderbirds ( 12-0 ),  61-57 Friday night in Tecumseh, Kansas.

The T-Birds led throughout the game but the Blue Jays pulled to within three points on two occasions before falling. Shawnee Heights played without their second leading scorer Tony Barksdale while the Blue Jays were without Tanner Lueker and Cody Magee due to the flu.

Josh Bryan played the entire game for Junction City in the backcourt, and led the team in scoring with 19 points. He hit five three-point baskets in the win.

Junction City, 4-9, will host Topeka High next Friday night.
